About a month and a half ago, one of my and my brother in-laws friends told us that he knew a couple that was moving into our court!
Turns out that he taught the husband while on his mission. And that's where they became good friends and then they moved out here! We introduced ourselves and since then we've been talking and doing things almost every week. They're a cute couple, and they are a lot of fun to have around and we are loving getting to know them.
I have really enjoyed getting to know our new friends especially the wife. She is a super sweet girl! She's from England and has an adorable accent, she is staying at home till she gets a job so when I'm home all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays we've been able to do things and talk. Last week we had lunch and it was so fun to sit and talk and get to know about each other! New friends are so fun!
Other fun things that we are doing...
we're trying to organize a friend get together with another couple in our ward. We found out that we have a fun connection in that our brother (my in-law) and the girl he's dating are their good friends. It's been fun trying to find a night that coordinates with all our schedules, and when it finally does happen(maybe on Friday) I know we're going to have so much fun!
we're going to a musical at hale center theater with my "other" family and I am going to the premier of Twilight with my sisters next week. Both exciting events!
next saturday we leave for thanksgiving vacation in hawaii! I'm excited to go for my first time and to be in hot weather again!
we're expanding our meal selection. Every week I'm trying to make
something we havn't made before. I'm taking from the recipes that we got from our wedding and any suggestions...
I am listening to Christmas music on the radio!
We hope all is well with you and yours! Thanks again for checking in on us!

Quotable
Here are some quotes from "standing for something" that i've liked and wanted to share...
"Love is like the Polar Star. In a changing world, it is a constant. It is something that, when sincere, never moves. It is the very essence of the teachings of Christ. It is the security of the home. It is the safeguard of community life. It is a beacon of hope in a world of distress."
"By and large, if we complain about life, it is because we are thinking only of ourselves. For many years, there was a sign on the wall of a shoe shop I patronized that read, " I complained because I had no shoes until I saw a man who had no feet." The most effective medicine for the sickness of self-pity is to lose ourselves in service to others.
The best antidote I know for worry is work. The best cure for weariness is the challenge of helping someone who is even more tired. One of the great ironies of life is this: He or she who serves almost always benefits more than he or she who is served."
I'm only a quarter of the way through so I am sure there will be more to come. I am really enjoying the words of pres. Hinckley, they convey his love and faith and knowledge in a beautiful and uplifting way.

picture attempt
just another day in paradise
Fall break which I consistently refer to as Spring Break was a lot of fun! I got to hang out with the office girls( I miss them), Play with my hubby on Wednesday and my mom on Friday. Such Fun!!!
Now I'm back to school and it's of course not as bad as I'd thought. I had my first swim class for this session and it was perfect! I never realize how much I miss it till I hit that cold water and start pulling with super weak muscles! I am excited to get back in shape and have fun in the process!
Finally!!! My brother is coming home next week which means I'll probably post next week about how happy I am, but for now I'm complaining about how completely forever long these last two years have been! When I think about how it felt to have my otehr brothers go I don't ever remember feeling like those two years were long at all, but with my best bud it has been almost everyday that I've thought, this is taking soooo long! Good thing that all ends Monday at 4!!!! I am so excited to see him, and hug and laugh and see how he's grown and changed! It'll be so wonderful! I'm kinda sad that I won't be at home with him, just for the reason that I'd love to spend tons of time with him, but I like my house and situation too much to really want that : )
So life is still great,
especially since I mopped my floor today. I have a hard time getting around to it but until I do it's there in the back of my brain saying "clean me"...
anyway that's what I get to do for fun inbetween studying, yay!
oh I'm reading Standing for Something for the first time and I'm loving it! I pull it out eveytime I get on the shuttle and it's the perfect read to get me through the day. Very uplifting- and logical, clear, great, everyone should read it!
